Methods. A bibliographic review was carried out from searches in the following databases: PubMed and Scopus. Articles published in the last ten years were selected that address sociocultural risk factors, the description of national and regional initiatives, and the possible challenges and obstacles to effective control of the epidemic in MSM. This report focuses exclusively on those publications about MSM in the Caribbean countries. Results. A thematic analysis of 11 refereed studies and 9 articles and programmatic frameworks from the gray bibliography was carried out. The prevalence of HIV infection in MSM is high and the rates vary among Caribbean countries. Toxicological profile of suicide cases in Rio Grande do Sul
Describe the toxicological profile of all suicide Cuba Email List victims in Rio Grande do Sul from 2017 to 2019. In this descriptive and cross-sectional study, all expert and police reports on suicide deaths in the state were consulted. Multiple correspondence analyzes were performed and independent logistic regression models were created, using ethanol, anxiolytic and antidepressant products, Cuba Email List illicit substances, and non-drug toxic agents as dependent variables. The probability of obtaining positive results for breathalyzer increased. Even without having proven causality, the results show that there is a link between suicide and various psychoactive products. Medical examiners should be advised of the need for toxicology testing in all suicide cases.
Trends in mortality from diabetes identified from death certificates in Colombia
Describe the trends in mortality from diabetes mellitus (Cuba Email List ) in Colombia, by sex and age group, between 1979 and 2017. Methods. Ecological study with mortality data from the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia. Gross and age-adjusted annual death rates were estimated per Cuba Email List people. Trends in rates adjusted for sex and age groups were described. Joinpoint regression models were performed to study trends in mortality. Results. In the study period, the total number of deaths from DM registered in Colombia was in women (p <0.05). Age-adjusted mortality rates for each sex increased from deaths per 100,000 in women and from Cuba Email List in men between 1979 and 1999. In the period 1999- In 2017, a decrease was observed from Cuba Email List in women and from 22.7 to 15.9 in men.
